Emsella is for men too! If you're experiencing bladder leaks, waking up at night to pee, or have challenges with erectile dysfunction related to pelvic floor weakness - Emsella can help, Even for men recovering from prostate surgery. Your care plan will be personalized from the start.
At your first visit you will meet with our nurse to create your personal treatment plan. Most individuals require 6 sessions – 2 sessions per week for 3 weeks. Each treatment lasts 28 minutes. And then you can jump back into the rest of your day!
Nope! Come as you are. You stay completely dressed for every session – no need to change into a gown or special attire.
No. There’s no touching, no probes, and no internal devices involved. At each session you will sit fully clothed on the Emsella chair as the HiFem technology stimulates your pelvic floor muscles. The chair does all the work.
Most people describe the sensation as a series of gentle pulses or muscle contractions in their pelvic floor. It’s not painful and you do not require any down time after a 28-minute treatment. You can get right back to your normal routine as soon as your session is done.
Like all muscles, your pelvic floor grows stronger with effort and will improve and become stronger with each session. While everyone is different, some people begin noticing a difference after their first few treatments, with most achieving their full results approximately 6 weeks after completing their treatment plan.
The most commonly reported “side effect” of a stronger, healthier pelvic floor is increased pleasure during sex. (You’re welcome!) Rarely, you may feel a little cramping or temporary discomfort which resolves quickly.
Great question. If you're pregnant, have a copper IUD, a pacemaker, or have had a hip replacement, this treatment might not be right for you. If during your initial assessment your pelvic floor screens as overly tense (hypertonic), we may suggest starting with physiotherapy rather than Emsella.
We generally recommend waiting four months postpartum before beginning treatment. It’s also important that postpartum bleeding has stopped and that your healthcare provider has cleared you to resume physical activity. Your safety and recovery come first, and we’ll be here when you’re ready.
